James McCune Smith Scholarships fund Black UK-domiciled students to take on PhD studies at the University of Glasgow in any field where they may provide supervision.

They offer a more enjoyable experience by having external mentors in the form of placements, leadership education, social activities, community building, networking, and socializing opportunities. Ten James McCune Smith PhD Scholarships are available for research starting in October 2023. Eight of them are supported through the University of Glasgow and support research across all disciplines. 2-BBC International Radio Playwriting Competition 2023

The competition, hosted by BBC World Service and the British Council, offers a unique opportunity for authors to use an audio-based medium to create stories for the international public.

We are looking for submissions for the two categories of English as a First Language and English as a Second Language. 8- ZEF University of Bonn 3 Doctoral Researchers in Agricultural/ Development Economics for African Students 2022

The posts comprise the Collaborative Research Center (CRC 228) “Future Rural Africa”, which is funded through the German Research Foundation (DFG). The first two positions are covered by a University employee contract (TVL-E13 65percent). The third one is a University Stipend contract. The contracts will begin in January 2023 (or as soon as possible) and last for three years. The research is led by Prof. Matin Qaim and involves an empirical study on rural labour markets and employment within Kenya, Tanzania, Namibia and Zambia. Doctoral researchers will be incorporated into ZEF’s Doctoral Program and work toward their doctoral degrees from the Bonn’s University of Bonn.
