Why Take the High Road?

Bible Quotes About Taking The High Road
Bible Quotes About Taking The High Road- Weekly Devotional- The Road Less Traveled-Bible verses- Scripture for Today

When it comes to responding to life’s challenges, there is much wisdom in taking the high road. As the Bible says, “A soft answer turns away wrath” (Proverbs 15:1).

In other words, when we are faced with difficult situations or people, it’s often best to respond in a calm and collected manner. Not only does this help Diffuse the situation, but it also shows respect and restraint on our part.

Taking the high road can be hard, especially when we feel like we’ve been wronged. But as Christians, we are called to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us (Matthew 5:44).

This doesn’t mean that we allow ourselves to be treated badly; rather, it means that we choose to respond to negativity with positivity.

When we take the high road in our relationships, it not only sets a good example for others but also brings glory to God. This post is based on my presentation at the Rachel Stembaur series on Thessalonians.

10 powerful Bible Quotes About Taking The High Road That Will Make You Think
Bible Quotes About Taking The High Road- Taking the high road while the low road is calling your name

It can be so tempting to take the low road when someone wrongs us. We think about all of the ways that we could get revenge or make them suffer. But what does the Bible say about taking the high road?

“Bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.” – Luke 6:28

“Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone.” – Romans 12:17

“If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.” – Proverbs 25:21-22

These verses show us that even when it’s hard, we are called to take the high road. We are called to bless those who curse us and to do good to those who mistreat us.

This doesn’t mean that we are doormats or that we let people walk all over us. But it does mean that we don’t stoop to their level and engage in petty revenge.

Taking the high road takes strength and courage. It’s not always easy. But it’s always the right thing to do. We must follow the example of our Savior Jesus Christ who endured mockery and torture for us so that we might be saved from our sins.
