The release of the Air Jordan 3 “Racer Blue” 2021 and where to buy it

Tinker Hatfield designed the Air Jordan 3 for the first time in 1988. Hatfield, who designed multiple Air Jordan models, was under a lot of pressure when it came to creating the renowned sneaker. Nike was in a precarious position at the time, having lost designer Peter Moore and marketing VP Rob Strausser. Even though Air Jordan 3 manufacturing was six months behind schedule, the silhouette would end up being the ideal middle ground for sneakerheads who liked both high-top and low-top sneakers.

Everything regarding the creation of these kicks was deliberate, thanks in part to Michael Jordan’s involvement. When Hatfield asked Jordan what his ideal sneaker would be, he said he wanted something with a mid-cut height, similar to the Air Jordan 1, that was stylish and comfy. Hatfield delivered, with a unique touch that included the iconic Jumpman emblem from Jordan’s 1984 dunk on the sneaker’s tongue. The Air Jordan 3 was released in a variety of hues throughout its first year, including “White Cement,” “Black Cement,” “Fire Red,” and “True Blue,” with the first two proving to be the most popular.

New colors and patterns were added to the classic Air Jordan 3 range as time went on. The Air Jordan 3 “Racer Blue” is the most recent incarnation of the shoe, and it is now available for purchase on GOAT’s website and app. As the Jordan line waits for the next throwback pair, GOAT takes a look back at some of the best Air Jordan 3s of all time.

The Jumpman is bringing back the Saturday editions after a little hiatus in the schedule. The Air Jordan 3 “Racer Blue” is set to release tomorrow, and it will have a colorway that is spiritually similar to the silhouette’s previous releases.

The pair, which is often compared to the “Fire Red,” features classic AJ3 color blocking. White tumbled leathers have a similar quality and simplicity, which is then enhanced with elephant print pops. And these patterned pieces, while seemingly unremarkable at first glance, twist the original with a 3M finish, further distinguishing the release from the “Racer Blue” smashes.
